Data we process and why
You can play Daily without an account. Your browser stores game progress, preferences, archive position, and a guest gameplay identifier. Quoted records gameplay information such as puzzle, game mode, result, attempts, hint level, and completion time to provide the game, maintain progress, prevent abuse, and understand puzzle quality.
If you create an account, we process your email address, authentication information handled by our authentication provider, display name, puzzle results, guesses, scores, and completion times. This is necessary to create and administer your account, synchronize progress, provide statistics, and operate leaderboards under our agreement with you.
If you send feedback, we process your message, category, optional reply email, account identifier if signed in, page address, browser information, and submission time. We use this to respond, troubleshoot problems, improve Quoted, and protect the feedback channel from abuse.
Where processing is not necessary to perform our agreement with you, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, troubleshooting, and improving the service, subject to your right to object. Optional advertising or non-essential tracking will not be introduced without the notices and consent choices required by applicable law.
Public information
If leaderboard visibility is enabled, your display name, avatar, profile title, profile status, score, and rank may be visible to other players. Do not add profile information you do not want to make public. Your email address and individual guesses are not displayed on public leaderboards.
Service providers and international transfers
Quoted uses Supabase for authentication and database services, Netlify for website hosting and delivery, jsDelivr for the Supabase browser library, and Google when you choose Google sign-in. These providers may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs under their own terms and our applicable agreements. Some processing may occur outside Sweden or the EU/EEA using an adequacy decision or other lawful safeguards where required.
Storage periods
Account data and synchronized game history are normally stored while your account remains active. Deleting your account removes the account profile and synchronized game results, subject to limited backups, security records, or information that must be retained by law. Local browser data remains until you clear it. Feedback and identifiable gameplay analytics must be assigned documented deletion periods before public launch; they will not be kept longer than necessary for their stated purposes.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may delete your account from Settings and clear local browser data through your browser. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or another competent supervisory authority.
Children
Quoted is not directed to children under 13, and users must be at least 13 to create an account. If local law requires parental permission for a younger user's use of an optional feature, that feature may not be used without valid permission. Quoted does not knowingly use children's data for personalized advertising.
Security and policy changes
We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the service or law changes. Material changes will be communicated in the service, and a new effective date will be shown.
Terms of use
Using Quoted
Quoted is currently a free entertainment service. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes if you follow these Terms and applicable law. You must be at least 13 to create an account.
Do not disrupt or reverse engineer the service, bypass access controls, scrape or bulk-copy its content, make abusive automated requests, access another person's data, submit unlawful material, impersonate others, or manipulate scores, statistics, or leaderboards.
Accounts and public profiles
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Your display name must not be unlawful, deceptive, abusive, or infringe another person's rights. We may rename, restrict, suspend, or remove accounts where reasonably necessary to protect Quoted, its users, or third parties.
Future advertising and purchases
Quoted may later introduce advertising or optional paid cosmetic profile features. No payment is currently required. Before paid features are offered, the operator will establish any business arrangements required by law and provide the seller's full identity, total price including applicable taxes, payment and delivery information, cancellation or withdrawal information, refund rules, and any additional purchase terms required by consumer law.
A future purchase of a cosmetic feature will provide a limited personal right to use that feature within Quoted, not ownership of underlying intellectual property. Cosmetic features will have no cash value and may not be transferred or resold unless Quoted expressly introduces and governs such functionality. Advertising or non-essential tracking will be subject to separate privacy information and consent choices where required.
Availability and liability
Features, puzzles, and availability may change, and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights. To the extent permitted by law, Quoted is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss caused by use or unavailability of the service.
Changes and applicable law
We may update these Terms for legal, security, operational, or product reasons. Material changes will be communicated before they take effect where required. Swedish law applies, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available in their country of residence.
Quotes, copyright, and rights requests
Quoted contains short excerpts, names, factual references, and source information connected to films, speeches, books, interviews, and other works. Third-party names, quotations, titles, and trademarks remain the property of their respective rights holders. Their appearance does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
Quoted aims to use only limited material supported by an applicable permission, licence, public-domain status, or legal exception. A source confirming that a quote is authentic does not by itself establish permission to reproduce it. Quoted therefore maintains a separate review of attribution, excerpt length, source, protection status, and publication basis.
Rights holders may request review, correction, attribution, or removal through the Feedback button. Please identify the quote or puzzle, the relevant work, your relationship to the rights, and the requested action. Credible requests will be investigated promptly and content may be restricted while a review is pending.
